Here you'll find some pictures I took over the last several years. Lately, though, I've been posting photos almost exclusively in my Flickr account, so you can see the most recent stuff over there.
I also have a proper photography portfolio, which is kind of a streamlined version of what you see below and on Flickr and includes some of my professional work. It lives here: Lisa Whiteman Lens.
I usually use a Nikon D80 digital SLR, and sometimes I take medium format photos using either a Holga or an Imperial Reflex camera. Older photos you come across may have been taken with any of the following: a Nikon D70 (digital), a Canon Powershot S3 1S (digital), a Nikon 8008 (film), or an Olympus 5050 (digital). I always carry one of the above with me whenever I leave the house.
Assume that all pictures on this site were taken by me, unless: I'm in them, or otherwise specified. If you want to use my pictures for any reason, please ask.

austin, texas/sxsw (one) |
| (march 2002) |
| In
March, I went to Austin to attend SXSW Interactive, to take advantage of a free pass and an opportunity
to see a new city and to meet a few of the people whom I "know"
online. Martin has friends in Austin, so he came along to hang out
with them while I went to panels and receptions. These pictures are
a mixture of local subjects and SXSW events. |

| For his job, Martin had to take pictures of an algae bloom at the mouth
of the Neuse River (in North Carolina), and I tagged along. These
pictures were taken before and during the flight, and I've included
a few from the drive back to Raleigh. The pictures have not been modified
to enhance color. (read

of cheap tickets and nice weather. From there, we camped in Olympic

the majority of our visit was spent in Portland. We were due to come
back on the 11th but were stranded for a few extra days due to the
hijackings. |

southwestern u.s. |
| (october 2000) |
| In
October I joined Ingo's family as the American component of their
Southwest vacation. By the time I was dropped off in Ojai, California
to take a Macromedia course, we'd snaked through much of Utah and
Arizona. There are a lot of pictures from this trip, so the thumbnails

discovered that it's relatively cheap to fly to Canada in winter,

went up to visit for a few days. My friend moved away the week before
(I don't think it was related), so we wandered around on our own. |

u.k. (two) |
| (jun 1998 – july 1998) |
|
Six
months after leaving the U.K., I went back for a few weeks to attend
a wedding in Wales and to disrupt my friend Scott's six-month stay.
I didn't take many pictures on this trip, because Continental airlines
misplaced my camera for the majority of it.

to continental Europe. There are a lot of pictures from this trip,
so the thumbnails may take a little while to load. |
